Resumes are passe. It’s time to use digital portfolios
If you go by the thousands of profiles on Linkedin and naukri.com, we are a nation of enthusiastic, motivated people. Everything is awesome, and everyone is creative and dynamic.
Talk about experience, and we have a great track record.
But can you really sell yourself with such empty claims and hackneyed business buzzwords? It’s not easy, right?
Here comes the relevance of a digital portfolio. If that sounds odd, log onto Pxljobs and be amazed.
India’s first portfolio-driven platform for job seekers and recruiters, the one-year-old website, promoted by Bangalore-based ThoughtGrid Interactive, boasts of a talent pool that comprises more than 30,000 candidates, and over 4,500 employers.
Once a person signs up for Pxljobs, he gets a verified, custom profile – a virtual real estate, where he can showcase his best works and achievements. The best thing about Pxljobs is that its profile can be shared with multiple stakeholders as a digital candidate packet: something that can make hiring managers go ‘wow’ whey they get your application.
A platform exclusively for creative jobs, Pxljobs is now offering yet another unique service for its members: a map-based searching mechanism, wherein an employer or job hunter can tap local talents and opportunities.
According to Ajith Kannan, CEO and founder of ThoughtGrid Interactive, the new feature will take the unique job website to new growth paths.
“Creative job seekers used to end-up with jobs, which are not in their interest and skills while recruiters struggle to hire the rightly skilled candidate for their requirement. For example, a cartoonist should get a cartoonist’s job, not a graphic designer’s! That’s why, within a year since we launched Pxljobs, it became a busy hangout for creative professionals,” he says.
The website also ensures social media pushing for job postings on all leading networking platforms. The site also offers a quick, two-step online interview scheduler with its one-of-its-kind combined human behavior and advanced analytics-driven hiring platform.
