Polish those shoes – and your resume. Area hiring events are set for Thursday, this weekend, next week and September.

Thursday, Bay Technical Staffing will be at the Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works! service center location, 1409 Washington St. in Midland from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for on-the-spot interviews for these positions:

Construction flagger

Auto mechanic

General laborer

Commercial painter

Woodworking production

Shipping and packaging

Industrial janitor

On Saturday, Aug. 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Kroger at its 6370 Dixie Highway site in Bridgeport plans to conduct on-the-spot interviews for positions including bagger/courtesy clerk, day/night stock, produce, and fuel. You can also apply online at https://jobs.kroger.com

On Tuesday, Aug. 8, from 3 to 7 p.m., The Dow Chemical Co. also plans on-the-spot interviews at a hiring event at the Dow Event Center, 303 Johnson St., in Saginaw. Dow has been seeking to fill 140 chemical process operator positions ($16 to $24 per hour) and logistics technician positions ($13 to $15 per hour). Dow says it also plans to hire for production engineers and customer service positions at the hiring event. See more info here.

The Great Lakes Bay Job Fair is set for Wednesday, Sept. 13, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Delta College’s Pioneer Gym, on the campus at 1961 Delta Road, University Center. The Pioneer Gym is in the campus’ N-Wing. See a campus map here.

Employers at the Great Lakes Bay Job Fair in March ranged from the Michigan National Guard and the U.S. Secret Service to the City of Bay City, Midland Parks and Recreation, Northwood University, Consumers Energy, Two Men and a Truck, and many more.

Delta has hosted the job fair for eight years. About 1,000 job seekers visit each year, and 158 regional businesses attended last year, according to Delta. Check here for more info.

The city of Midland has posted openings for a part-time bus driver, seasonal laborer, and crossing guard. Midland County also has posted job openings.
