Position start: This position is open to start August 1st.

For the right candidate, family would be happy to add some household responsibilities (see duties) to make this more of a Nanny Manager role. Schedule would look more like 3 days, 12:00 – 6:00 p.m.and 2 days, 2:30 – 6:00 p.m. (25 hours/week). Family is also open to adding and one “date night” evening a month (could be a weekend night if open to it) as well.

If nanny is able to work full-time in August 2017, and in future summers, the schedule will be 8:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. If nanny is unable to work in the summers full-time, family will hire a summer nanny.

Pay Range: $15.00-18.00/hour, dependent on experience, education, and expertise. For the After School only position (17.5 hours/week), this range ends up being a gross salary of $262.50-$315.00/week. If nanny is a fit for the Nanny Manager position (25 hours/week) the salary will range from $375.00 – $450.00/week. An overtime rate of time and half will go into effect after 40 hours. Nanny will be paid weekly through check. Nanny will be paid legally, receiving a W-2 at the end of the year.

Benefits : Family offers 2 weeks paid vacation. Nanny will have the following paid holidays off: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. Family will reimburse for miles driven while on the job at the standard mileage rate. Nanny may receive a raise based on her performance review at the end of the first year.

Family values: This is a dual-income family; mom and dad are professionals who work outside of the home for the most part. Both parents may work from home on occasion. As a family they enjoy going to the movies, bowling, and playing putt-putt. They love to spend time at the pool in the summer. Discipline with their school-age children looks like positive reinforcement and discussion of good and bad choices. The kids may loose privileges or get sent to their rooms. The parents hope their kids grow up to have a sense of responsibility and community, that they give to others and be well-rounded. They say that it is rewarding to see their kids happy, healthy, doing well in school and becoming independent.

Children: The family has two children, a 9 year old son and 7 year old daughter. B9 is smart, articulate, organized, funny, and persistent when he wants to be. He likes chess, karate, swimming, bowling, and board games. He will be entering 3rd grade in the fall. G7 is smart, funny, tough but warm. She enjoys arts & crafts, science projects and cooking. She is naturally athletic and is also in karate. She’s a tomboy and enjoys following in her brother’s footsteps. She will be entering 2nd grade in the fall. Both kids are tall and look older than they are. They are active, like imaginary play, swimming and going to the park. And, they do play together.

Pets: The family doesn’t have any pets.

Duties: After school duties would include transportation from school and to activities, basic care for the children, preparing easy dinners and cleaning up after, leading the kids to work on homework and shower before dinner. In addition, as a Nanny Manger, the duties would include: dishes, laundry, towels, sheets, wipe down the bathroom with clorox wipes, grocery shopping, running errands, etc. Nanny Manager would also manage and purge the kids items (clothes, toys, art supplies, etc.) by going through the play room, basement and closets. She should be organized and take initiative to manage without needing to be asked. Family has a cleaning lady that comes every other week. If nanny is working full-time in the summer, the kids keep busy! They are at the pool daily so the nanny must be a swimmer. They also do camps, Kings Island, the zoo, etc.

Hopes: The family hopes to find a nanny that is part of their team and invested in their kids’ success. They hope that the nanny has a great mix of routine and flexibility, who has self-awareness and able to respond to the kids’ needs. Someone that is fun but authoritative and understands that balance. Nanny should be able to go with the flow and make good decisions. The nanny should either live somewhat close or understand what it means to commute to West Chester. The family hopes the nanny will stay long-term as they anticipate needing nanny care for about 7 more years.
