Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) would generate ten lakh job opportunities in the country. Apart from this, people associated with Information Technology (IT), Chartered Accountant (CA) and GST would also get employment.Mr Khattar was speaking at a felicitation function organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India on the occasion of 68th Chartered Accountants Day in Gurugram today. He called upon the CAs to remove all doubts concerning the GST in the next three months and take the country further ahead. He described GST as a huge transformation after the free India and said that this too had been done by convening the session of Parliament at mid-night. He said that this was the fourth programme in free India which was organised mid-night. Prior to this, such programmes were organized on the occasion of Independence of the country on August 14 and 15, 1947 and on the completion of 25 and 50 years of freedom of the country.The Chief Minister said it was the result of the strong political will of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the GST has become a reality in the country. The country could take rapid strides towards development if there was a transparency in the system. He described GST as a yet another big step after Aadhar, Jan Dhan Yojna, NITI Ayog and demonetization of high value currency notes. He said that GST would ensure transparency and enable us to compete in the world. He said that in 1947, the value of one rupee was equal to one dollar but now we are lagging behind.
