The Arts Society is a leading art education charity with a global network of 385 local Societies, which bring people together through a shared curiosity for the arts. Together with The Cockpit Arts based in London, the Society is providing sponsored places at its creative business incubators as an award to support professional craftspeople working with traditional craft skills. The Cockpit Arts / The Arts Society Award recipient will be awarded a match funded space at a Cockpit Arts incubator for one year worth EUR2,000 (approx. USD2,282). Benefits include business and professional development services, selling and collaboration opportunities and access to office and studio facilities. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview in the week commencing 24 July 2017. No Longer Empty is a non-profit gallery in New York dedicated to community and public engagement with contemporary art through exhibition curation and education programmes. NLE is looking for a Director of Education & Public Engagement to lead, plan and manage its education initiatives, community partnerships and public engagement. The full-time position encourages creative risk-taking and cross-platform collaboration beyond national borders. Key selection criteria include Master’s Degree or equivalent experience required in art education, arts administration, social practice or related fields; minimum of 5 years programmatic and staff management experience; robust knowledge of NYC’s five boroughs, relationships with public schools, local social service organisations. OPEN CALL | Mexico | Call for Residency Applications | 360 Xochi Quetzal – 30 July 2017
Located in the scenic lakeside of Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico, the 360 Xochi Quetzal is a creative residency for emerging and established artists and writers from around the world. Through its Artist and Writer’s Residency Program, the organisation is now offering national and international visual artists and writers four live and work spaces FREE of charge with regular meal allowance during 14 December 2017 to 13 January 2017. The studio spaces provide basic facilities including free Wi-Fi, working tables, ceramics firing places and wall space for mounting. To apply, candidates will submit a well-conceived residency project, indicate that this residency will make a significant impact and provide evidence of the self-reliance required for a residency in the developing world. The company’s Hong Kong Gallery is currently recruiting a Gallery Associate who will be responsible for daily management and sales. The NGV is the oldest and most visited gallery in Australia and is widely acclaimed internationally. The gallery is currently seeking a Curatorial Project Officer, International Exhibition Projects who will be responsible for providing administrative and curatorial support to the Senior Curator. Key responsibilities include providing high-quality administrative support for international exhibitions and preparing correspondence. Successful candidates will have a tertiary qualification in Art History or equivalent coupled with knowledge and experience in exhibition management and sound knowledge of International Art, particularly European and North American Art of the 19th and 20th centuries.
