Over 50,000 Cambodians are participating in a Korean language test on Saturday and Sunday in Phnom Penh, capital city of Cambodia, for the chance to work in South Korea.

A successful exam mark means a chance to work on a farm, construction site or in a factory here as unskilled labors, making $1,000 to 1,500 a month, which is higher than the average annual income in Cambodia, according to German news agency dpa. Those who score high enough will be allowed to get a job under South Korea’s Employment Permit System (EPS).

Last year, South Korea employed 46,000 Cambodians, many of whom will stay here for five years.

Meanwhile, almost 70,000 Nepalese people took the Korean language test last week to work in South Korea.
